Blas Avena (born June 30, 1983) is a American professional mixed martial artist and World Extreme Cagefighting veteran. Blas relocated from Southern California to Las Vegas in 2004 where he got a job working as a security guard at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. He is known for his superior ground fighting and submissions. Blas holds a notable win over UFC fighter Tiki Ghosn. Avena was set to headline California's first hybrid MMA/Muay Thai card against undefeated Ky Hollenbeck, May 30, 2009, but dropped out due to undisclosed personal reasons.
