Jussier da Silva, (born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil) is a professional mixed martial arts fighter from Brazil currently signed with the Shooto. He is the Shooto South America 123-pound champion.[1] da Silva holds a notable win over Shooto's Bantamweight Champion Shinichi Kojima. He is currently ranked the #1 flyweight in the world by Sherdog[2] and other major MMA publications.

MMA career[]

Jussier made his MMA debut on August 30, 2008 in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He defeated fighter Ralph Lauren via submission. Jussier then won his fight on November 29,2008 at Shooto - Brazil 9 against Maicon Willian Costa via decision. In his latest fight, da Silva defeated Shinichi "BJ" Kojima via decision at Shooto - Revolutionary Exchanges 1: Undefeated. After upsetting Shooto world champion Shinichi Kojima in a non-title affair in July, it was expected "Formiga" would be brought back for a year-end title rematch. [3] However, Kojima has recently vacated the title, further complicating Jussier's future with the organization.[4]
