John "Big" Dixson (born October 16, 1965) is a retired professional Heavyweight Mixed Martial Arts fighter. He is notable for fighting in PRIDE Fighting Championships among other mixed martial arts organizations.
MMA career[]
John Dixson started out his MMA career in a small MMA organization called Oklahoma Free Fight Federation. He made his debut at OFFF 1 where he first picked up a victory against Michael Stam via a KO victory, but lost his next fight that same night to Anthony Macias via decision. He then moved to other MMA organizations, picking up wins and losses on the way. He lost in his debut fight in PRIDE Fighting Championships to Kazunari Murakami. John Dixson never made it to a major American MMA organization, but he did compete in many different organizations around the world. His last known MMA fight was November 17, 2006 where he lost to Justin Eilers via submission due to strikes in the second round.
He now owns a Mixed Martial Arts training school called Dixon's Dungeon.
