Pride 17: Championship Chaos was a mixed martial arts event held by the Pride Fighting Championships. It took place at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan on November 3, 2001. This event also saw the crowning of the first Pride FC Heavyweight and Middleweight champions.

Nogueira defeated Herring by Unanimous Decision (5:00 Third Round) to become the first Pride FC Heavyweight champion.

Pride FC Middleweight Title: Japan flag Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Brazil flag Wanderlei Silva

Silva defeated Sakuraba by TKO (Doctor Stoppage) (10:00 First Round) to become the first Pride FC Middleweight champion. Sakuraba suffered a broken collar bone after being slammed by Silva.
