He currently resides in Barcelona and runs the official Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy of Spain. He travels regularly to teach seminars throughout Europe and North America. Gracie Challenge[]
Robin is also known for a Gracie Challenge that happened May 24th 2003. Gracie was challenged by French MMA fighter Damien Riccio who showed up at Gracie's club in Paris to challenge him.
The fight, posted on YouTube, shows a much larger Riccio dominating Gracie and actually beating him. This was not really a shock though as Robin had been rolling all day to that point and had zero time to prepare for the challenge.
Rumors began to surface that weeks later Riccio was jumped by several members of the Gracie family, Royce included, at a bar where he bounces and was subsequently beaten up. Riccio denied the rumor, as did the Gracie family.
