Royce Alger, an American wrestler, won NCAA Division I national championships at the University of Iowa in 1987 and 1988. His collegiate career record was 131-12-3. After wrestling for Iowa, Alger went on to win three U.S. Open titles, two Pan-Am gold medals, two World Cup gold medals, and a silver in the World Games.[1]

Alger also competed in mixed martial arts. In his mixed martial arts debut (at UFC 13, May 30, 1997), he lost by armlock to Enson Inoue. He won his next three fights, all of which were in smaller, regional events. In his fifth and final fight (at UFC 21, July 16, 1999), he was knocked out by Eugene Jackson.[2]
