Tyson Johnson is a Professional mixed martial artist from Tri Cities WA.
Tyson Johnson was born April 4, 1985 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Rick Johnson and Nena Murkerson. In 1988 Tyson and his family moved to Yakima, Washington and in 1990 moved again to Richland, Washington were Tyson attended Richland High School (Washington) and varsity lettered in football and wrestling. In 2003 when Tyson joined the U.S. Army he was stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, returning home in 2006 to Richland where he still lives today.
In 2003 Tyson joined the U.S. Army as an Airborne Infantryman. In 2005 Tyson served a 12 month deployment in Iraq with the F Co. 51st INF (LRSC) Rangers under the 525th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade (United States). Tyson left the U.S Army in 2006 with an honorable discharge.
Amateur MMA CareerEdit
He started at 225 lbs and worked his way down to 155lbs. In just under 3 years Tyson went 16-6 as an amateur with 12 wins by submission and 4 by TKO. his loses were 3 by TKO 2 by submission and 1 decision. He took the Dominace fighting challenge lightweight title at the end of 2008. From 2007-2008 Tyson trained under Rich Guerin, and moved under the coaching and management of Anthony Hamlett in 2009.
Pro MMA CareerEdit
On July 3 2009 Tyson made his Pro debut on CageSport MMA Tacoma Washington at the Emerald Queen Casino.
